  5.     Have you ever forgotten a birthday? How about that anniversary or other
  6.     special occasion? Well, you can put your brain to rest, PC-Nag has come
  7.     to the rescue!
  8.  
  9.     This program lets you save reminder messages on your computer. Every
  10.     morning when you turn your computer on you get reminded of things. Just
  11.     like a spouse, but it costs less and in-laws don't come with it.
  12.  
  13.     You can have messages pop up every year, month, week, day, or every
  14.     certain number of days. You can also make it show you the message any
  15.     number of days (and times) before it occurs. For example, if your
  16.     mother's birthday is on June 2, you would set a message to pop up on
  17.     6/2. But being reminded on the exact day of the event does not give a
  18.     person much preparation. With our software, like any good nag, you will
  19.     be reminded as many days, or times, before that specific date as you
  20.     wish.

  22.     But what if you don't turn on your computer until after all these
  23.     reminders have passed? Don't worry, if you don't turn on your computer,
  24.     PC-Nag just holds the message over to the next day. None of this hit
  25.     and miss stuff that certain other software packages leave you with.

  27.     Just as a bonus, PC-Nag comes with a year's worth of mostly humorous
  28.     daily sayings. Only one per day, so it will take more than a year to
  29.     read them all! Of course you can turn them off, for those who are
  30.     easily offended.

  45.                                 HOW TO INSTALL

  48. Setting up PC-Nag:
  49. ------------------

  51.   For hard disk users
  52.     1) Create a sub-directory on your hard disk.
  53.          (Example: C:\>MD NAG)
  54.     2) Change to that sub-directory.
  55.          (Example: C:\>CD NAG)
  56.     3) Copy contents of your PC-Nag disk onto the sub-directory.
  57.          (Example: C:\NAG>COPY A:*.*)
  58.     4) Set up PC-Nag by typing SETUPNAG [Return].
  59.          (Example: C:\NAG>SETUPNAG)

  61.     At this point you have two options.
  62.       1) Put the name NAGME in your Autoexec.bat and in your Path. If
  63.          this seems foreign to you, your best bet is #2.
  64.       2) Type MOD-AUTO [Return].
  65.            (Example: C:\NAG>MOD-AUTO)
  66.          This sets up PC-Nag so as to appear every time you turn your
  67.          computer on. You will also be able to run PC-Nag from any
  68.          directory on your hard disk by simply typing NAGME [Return] at
  69.          the DOS prompt.

  73. Note on examples: You type after the > symbol. The C:{stuff}> is what
  74.                   you will see displayed. Also, remember to push the
  75.                   [Return] or [Enter] key after each command.

  77.                   Secondary note: DOS prompts may vary depending on
  78.                   how your particular system was configured.

  80.                   Trinary note: You probably know all this stuff.

  86. There have been two changes since version 1.0.  Briefly they
  87. are:

  89. 1) Archive option added.

  94. Archive Option

  97. After a message has outlived its usefulness, and you go to
  98. delete it, there is now another choice.  Archive it!  This
  99. will delete the message from your calendar and place it in a
  100. text file called: ARCHIVE.TXT.  This is useful for messages
  101. that contain phone numbers, addresses, or anything that you
  102. might want to look up sometime in the future, but that you
  103. don't want glaring at you every day.

  106. Search Option

  109. A search option has been added in the Edit Message section.
  110. This allows you to search your entire calendar for a certain
  111. word, or phrase.

  115. Bug Fix
  116. =======
  117. The screen color is no longer altered at exit.

  119. Daily sayings toggle has been fixed.  Note: Once the sayings status is toggled,
  120. it is necessary to re-run PC-Nag to activate selection.
